Oh brother...

"Out of Reach"--the get up kids

long way from home,
lost by an echo, i'd never have known
i've got pictures to prove i was there,
but you don't care

here's me overseas, across a pond by the dover peaks
i've smuggled myself into new nationalities, you think you'd be proud of me
there's room to believe, out of sight, out of mind, out of reach
start over is no way to begin

Over hundreds of thousands of "Fawkes" masks distributed. Why didn't I get one? Crap.

I loved the mask. Really.
source:vforvendetta.com

Check out those Guy Fawkes mask! I want one for myself! This movie gave me a picture of what may happen(hope not) to the present Philippine government. I hope this political turmoil will not end up with exploding Metro Manila landmarks of some sort. This movie tackles a lot of political issues that also reflects the situation in the Philippines before and up to this very time.

The movie is about the story of Evey Hammond(Portman) who is rescued by a masked character only known as "V"(Weaving). V urges the people to rise up and revolt against the fascist government of Chancellor Sutler in Britain. Now both Evey and V stand to fight for the freedom and justice that they longed for a long time.

Although there are very obvious differences from the graphic novel by Allan Moore(author of From Hell, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), this film is still a crackin' good watch. Its gotta be the mask! Yes, that mask! The Fawkes Mask!! I want it!! =p Rate:9/10

Quentin Tarantino has done it again...

softballs: not chewy at all.

In the course of seeing this one, the two girls na nasa likod ng seat ko bglang umalis. Man, imagine all that gore...I used to enjoy this type of films pero ito haha, natulala nalang ako. The movie is about three guys searching for earthly pleasures in Amsterdam, where they learn of a Hostel somewhere in Slovakia with beautiful women willing to do the deed for a low price. Ahh yes, they are in heaven---or so they thought. Soon Pax(Jay Hernandez) and his friend Josh discovers the unimaginable--that unfortunately there is more to the Hostel that meets the eye.

The movie's packed with sex and violence, portrayal of nationalities, and of course shock and gore. The protagonist Jay Hernandez was good though. The elements in the film's cinematography can be quite symbolic in terms of say, political content like showing the typical "anti-American" bandwagon w/c has emerged after 9/11(wikipedia.org). This movie I think scores 7/10. You guys judge.

Swamped--

Another project in DIGILUS almost done. Okay naman ung presentation. I just need to make some refinements lang daw sa lineart. Yep, medyo hrap ako sa rendering ng linearts lalu na pag photoreal kelangan. Mas type ko ung flats e. I dunno maybe it's just not my thing. =) okay nga yun e at least si miss Nadya, she's really looking for more improvement. Hangga't may mapipiga pa sa gawa mo dpat piga mo na. Hahahaha...

Hayy daming work...kapagod na. Pero at least natututo naman ako ng madami. I really need to improve on some of my skills sa multimedia programs. If I am to evaluate myself, sa tingin ko kulang pa nga...

I'm facing another hell's load of work---ofmulti homeworks(web) and 3D modelings both from AutoCad and Maya. I'm really having a hard time modeling 3ds in AutoCad...compared to the flexibility of the Maya software---it's way more powerful. And I beg to disagree with my CAD prof's view of Maya. Parang he keeps on reiterating something like, "AutoCad should also be used in 3d cause its dwelling more on accuracy." Arrghhmmm...I mean what are the measurements, coordinates, channel boxes in Maya for? Can't that be accurate enough? Arrrghh this is just added stress... I wish that after this term I may still end up in the Dean's list. So help me God. =|

Lively and sexy---An elegant romantic comedy.

Heath Ledger & Sienna Miller in "Cassanova"
source: http://movies.go.com

Heath Ledger's baritone livens up the screen once again. It's like he's doing "A Knight's Tale" only that he's in Venice. The rest of the cast are also good. Oliver Platt(Paprizzio) has done it again he's funny talaga. And for the record, it's really my first time seeing Jeremy Irons(Bishop Pucci) carry a certain role that way---I've always seen him in action, suspense, drama films but this one's kinda different. Natawa lang talaga ako sa kanya sa movie. This movie also showed the power of Catholic Church that time, and what may happen if it's a Pope's birthday!! I Don't wanna spoil it. Anyways Cassanova's suppose to be about a guy who can't keep it in his pants.--- I'm gonna rate this 9/10 mababaw lang kaligayahan ko sa pagtawa! ahahaha! =p

"Lost, Broken, Confused"--Mest

Did you get scared standing alone in the crowd?
Did you give up when i was nowhere to be found?
Did you get tired of being left all alone?
Do you feel better now that you're on your own?
There's nothing without you.
the days once had are through.
I'm lost, broken, confused
But i won't give up on you ...

Tonight all i see is your face now on everyone else.
And now i know how scared you were all by yourself.
When the phone rings do you ever hope that it's me?
Do you ever dream of a day when we will still be?
There's nothing without you.
The days once had are through.
I'm lost, broken, confused
But i won't give up on you ...
Tonight i'll lie here all alone
Wondering what our future holds.
And if my life should fall apart would you still care?
would you still care?
there's nothing without you.
the days once had are through.
i'm lost, broken, confused (lost, broken, confused) but ...
i won't give up on you (won't give up on you)
tonight.

Who's Next?

source: http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=13088

Yep! I you've seen the first two sequels, you'll probably draw this part 3's "death cycle". I've talked about this trilogy since my first blog kaya lang wala na yun. grrrr... And for the first two parts I have my own favorite "dying moments" which the actors portrayed. I have to say this again, in part 1 the lady who" got caught" by bus. In part 2, the lady in the elevator( they still tried to push her up pero of course it didn't work ). For the latest one, The guy inside the weight room--with two 50-100lb of weight plate crushing his big head. Hmmm for the record I liked Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Para siyang si Vanessa Carlton na mas pinaganda. =) Rate: 6/10 medyo bitin ako dito.

They are sick of beans...

Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain...
source: http://bighead.exteen.com/images/brokeback/mount1.jpg

Our PHILIEN prof suggested that we see it. The movie was well...ahemm...good. Nice to see something different. Yes, I have seen women kiss, make out, or even make love to each other and for me it's parang normal nalang. =p But this one's different in my own opinion: man to man, ranch boy to rodeo cowboy affection and uhmm let's just say "action". Maybe this is what they mean by love itself being a strong force of nature. Great movie though. I'm gonna be rating this one 8 out of 10 due to some dragging scenes. =)

Tired...

Slept 12:00am kanina, woke up at 7am. Enough sleep na ata, the longest I had since...hmmm tgal na. Pero pag gising ko para akong nahihilo na ewan. Sakit ng ulo ko. Well the usual routine: breakfast, kung may time workout, rush homeworks, ahahahahaha!! at umalis ng bahay! I arrived at school 11:25, 5 mins before my first class. Habang nag didiscuss si sir Benjie I began dozing off, antok na antok ako ewan ko kung bakit. And to think we are watching a bunch of cartoons(powerpuff, dexter, tarzan, iron giant)---kelangan kasi para daw makakuha kami ng ideas sa walk cycle animations for our characters. After ILUSTRA it's that 3d class again. Grrrr I forgot my sweater e ang lamig sa ml4!! pero ok naman ung na model ko ngayon, 3 mukhang di ko maintindihan kung ano. That's it, end of my classes. =p

The making of a Geisha...

Gong Li stars as Hatsumomo--Memoirs of a Geisha

Yep, I have seen it. Arthur Golden's masterpiece in motion picture. I have to admit it, I loved the book better than the movie. I didn't really feel the devastated life of Sayuri/Chiyo (Ziyi Zhang) both as a nine-year old kid and as a geisha forced to be driven away from whatever she desires. On the other hand, the movie's cinematography was phenomenal. All those tatami mats, the cherry blossoms, the "tipsy" house, the Shirakawa stream banks( although it was not mentioned in the movie I think), the road to Hakone, etc. was magnificently captured. To add the bonus, man...Gong Li's the bomb!! Ang hot niya sa movie sobra. I believe she's already 40+ something pero she looks she's in her early 30's palang. Absolutely gorgeous!--really fit for Hatsumomo's role. And of course Zhang Ziyi's face was soooo angelic and that little girl who played young Chiyo, Suzuka Ogho was cute din. Just wondering though, there are more Chinese than that of Japanese actors who portrayed the characters in the book. I can rate this movie 8 out of 10. =)

The power is back!!
