A video game based film named with the same title. Only that the main character in the game was a male portrayal, Harry Mason. Actually I was expecting him to be in this one. I played the video game way way back when I was in grade 6 if I'm not mistaken and yes, with Playstation. The game itself was scary and frustrating while I was still paying it. And I have a walk-through with me by my side to make sure I make my every move safe...I'm such a chicken! =)

The movie was excellent. As I watch it, it kinda brings me back to some of the streets, buildings, the aura of the "hill" itself just like in the game. They did a good job maintaining the feel and the looks of the setting. Even the small "imps", the Midwich Elementary School, Hotel, Hospital...totally wicked! As for the character changes they have made, I think they worked well. The acting was great, although not all scenes were really scary for me.

Another thing, the movie runs for about 2 hours and five mins. Yeah I kinda checked my watch inside the movie house and said, wow ang tagal ata nito. Maybe that's one of its downsides, some scenes are just plainly out of control. Like...hmmm I think the character playing Rose's husband (Sean Bean), is somehow saddled with a subplot that could be removed from the film and nobody would even notice. Anyway, I think the movie's great for both gamers and non-gamers alike. Still another one to "scream" about. My rating: 6/10(big fan of the game kasi)

Scrat stars as himself once again in Ice Age 2:The Meltdown

I'm not supposed to see this one on the big screen until my prof in 3d class encouraged us to watch it, and pass a reaction paper about the 3d graphics for extra grades. I loved the "Fire King" part where Sid was worshipped by over hundreds or thousands of sloths then only ending up throwing him on a raging volcano. I also loved the new characters, that of Crash and Eddie. I liked their "Robert De Niro gesture"(taunting their fists in their possum chests and pointing those two fingers to Manny). Of course there's Scrat and his hard to reach acorn! He's totally hilarious! And believe it or not, he's the one who saved those animals including the main characters from extinction due to ice meltdown! The story is basically about survival and meeting new friends along the way. The language however is not intended for a GP audience. There are words like. crap, stupid, idiot...stuff like those. If you need some good laughin, this one's just right for you! I'll rate this one 7/10. =)

Farewell my dear uncle...

Sad sad easter...My uncle Dante passed away 10:45 am in the hospital...Hindi na namin siya naabutan kasi we were hearing mass by that time...As soon as we received the news about his passing, we rushed to the hospital agad. We bid our farewells around his bed, said our prayers and each of us sprinkled Holy Water on his body while praying...I held his head, his hair seems so smooth and alive. Parang natutulog lang siya. He's the first casualty sa magkakapatid from my mother's side. 14 silang lahat...My mom's the bunso and Uncle Dante's the second. Haayyy nakakalungkot... =(

Pinned down.

After coming up short in reaching the Dean's List again this term, I've been thinking what to do to get this hatred, frustration, disappointment out of me after all that's happened. All those hardworks, sleepless nights, stress, body aches...arrggghhh. I need to go to bora. I need to unwind again just like last year. Shit, I didn't join the SOS(Summer of Service) this year. And I don't have enough money yet to go there again...grrr. I really hate how this day turned out to be. My pride, my ego was pedigreed and pinned down one, two, three. Never got the chance to kick out or put a shoulder up. I missed this opportunity, and there's no chance in hell waiting for me...it's done. It's over I'm all fucked-up. =(

Ahhh Sophia Myles...

James Franco and Sophia Myles stars in "Tristan and Isolde"

One of the best movies I've seen for a while...Well I've been a big fan of these chivalry, anglo-saxon peroids. Although I'm not into love stories, I think the story is great! I can see James Franco added some muscle in his frame compared to Spiderman and The Great Raid and that's a good thing--it justified his look as the English knight Tristan for me. As for Isolde, hmmm..Sophia Myles is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen on screen. She also played the vampire Erika in both Underworld sequels. But she's definitely no vampire here. I hate comparing her to a local celebrity but she looks like a more improved and the best version of Bea Alonzo. She is just gorgeous! The movie was great because of the interesting mix of characters, the cinematography, and of course...Isolde!! haha! I'll rate this 8/10! =p

Emilie de Ravin stars in the remake of "The Hills Have Eyes"

Okay, the movie is graphically violent. It was gruesome and disturbing but not as disturbing as "Hostel". The said "rape" scene was actually bothering... Although I don't see it as an actual rape scene, hmmm there was a lot of groping by that mutant spook but no sex at all. Yes, that scene really was disturbing most especially for the ladies. Arrghh. As i have said it is extremely graphic, there was this scene when this "lizard"(that's his name) guy ate one of those cute love birds ripped of its head first using his mouth then sucking all the blood from its body. Kawawa nman. And for the record, this R-18 rated movie has no nudity at all unlike "Hostel". Just plain violence and bloody, hellacious encounters with these mutant freaks. I loved the part when the character Doug hunted each of those freaks and kills them with his newly-found axe. With his encounter with the lizard guy, the part when he already got his baby seems so predictable. Haha! He's so damn stupid to leave that shotgun beside the rotten carcasses of lizard. Good thing the little girl saved his life.

In comparison", I liked Hostel better. Tarantino gave the viewers this feeling of "YAN BUTI NGA SAYO" Although I also felt that with this one, but not as good as Hostel. Well to top it, it's a great horror movie, a fantastic remake and certainly a crackin'- good watch. I'll rate this 7/10 =)

Almost done...

Hell week is almost over. One more deadline to meet which is going to be on April 10, 2006. ILUSTRA class is soooo tiring for me. I need to pass over a hundred and twenty drawings na halos paulit ulit lang ung laman. whew... Maybe i've been used to more computer works na kasi. Naninibago lang.

My web defense went all well this afternoon... It turned out good. I accepted some criticisms open-mindedly. Sempre napuna yung mga mali sa site ko. Like some rollovers, images are missing. I did the site na super rush, as in i haven't slept that much for like 2 days. Well meron naman pero mga three hours max lang. I feel so exhausted I can't workout anymore after school. Also I can't enjoy my food kasi kahit sa food limited ang oras ko. Ang daming time na masasayang. I kept on thinking of freakin concepts, deadlines here and there, review for a written exam in PHILIEN... Haaayyy nakakapagod. I'm not really expecting to be in the dean's list again this term...Sobrang dami kasi ng work. I can't really put all my best efforts in every subject. Minsan may nasasacrifice talaga. Well I'm still not losing hope... I just hope that I finish my final task complete, and super clean (I'm a big fan of dirty sketches/drawings by hand). My best of luck.
